Melissa

Melissa Babilonia-Rosa

Melissa completed her PhD in Biochemistry and Biophysics in May 2016 studying the role of Lipase maturation factor 1 in the maturation of lipoprotein lipase. She is now doing a teaching post doc at North Carolina State University.

Mike

Mike Lafferty

In August 2016 Mike started graduate school in the Biological and Biomedical Sciences Program at UNC. He hopes to get a PhD in bioinformatics and computational biology.

Cassandra Hayne

Cassandra earned her B.S. in Biology from the University of Iowa in 2011 before coming to UNC. Here, she studied the ways in which LPL structure regulate its function. She moves on to a Postdoc at NIEHS in October 2017.

Lindsey Broadwell

Lindsey completed her undergraduate degree in Chemistry at UNC in May 2016. In August 2016 she started graduate school in Biochemistry at UC Boulder.

Lin Cao

Lin completed her undergraduate degree in May 2018. In September 2018, she began medical school at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN.

Ellie Pearson

Ellie completed her undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering in May 2018. She moved on to a career in engineering in the Triangle after graduation.

Cari Koerner

Cari completed her M.S. in 2019 and has now begun a degree in genetic counseling at UNC Greensboro (Fall 2019).

Aspen

Aspen Gutgsell

Aspen completed her PhD studying ANGPTL4 in March 2020. She is going on to complete post-doctoral  research with Astra-Zeneca in Sweden.

Nate Campbell

Nate worked with Aspen to study the mechanisms of LPL inhibition by ANGPTL4.

Chelsea Yang

In the Neher Lab Chelsea investigated the physiological regulation of LPL, specializing in microscopy and image analysis. She is continuing on to a PhD at UNC in 2021.

Ben Roberts

Ben completed his PhD studying LPL trafficking and LPL’s partner LMF1. He is continuing his training at the Uniformed Services University in Bethesda, MD.
